IUGA Website

The Informatics Undergraduate Association tasked me with creating a welcoming visual brand to make students feel included. I collaborated with the website committee to develop the brand identity and designed visual assets for both print and digital use.

01. Spring Merchandize

I aim to celebrate the diverse journeys that lead students to Informatics, each bringing their unique skills and perspectives. I used puzzle pieces as a visual metaphor to represent how these individual strengths come together to create something impactful.

The branding emphasizes collaboration and playfulness, reflecting the dynamic and supportive nature of the Informatics community.

02. Illustration Sets for IUGA Website

To amplify the friendly visual style, the Website Committee tasked me with more digital assets. The illustrations are crafted to be bright, vibrant, and playful, yet maintain a minimalist aesthetic enhanced by strategic pops of color.

The homepage features three symbolic figures making information works, fostering a sense of community.

By color-coding event categories and reorganizing information hierarchy, we improved user experience with discovering and signing up for events. I added more illustrations to add playfulness and a sense of community.

Takeaways

* Developed the ability to customize illustrations to meet client needs in a fast-paced environment.

* Gained experience in delivering optimized design assets in the exact format required by developers for seamless integration.

* A huge thank-you to the IUGA team: Sheamin Kim, Eric Kim, Harold Pham, Madelyn Lee, Carl Searle, Vera Guber — Thank you for the guidance & inspirations along the way!
